SAN ANGELO, TX – Images of the filth inside of San Angelo's animal shelter have surfaced.
Warning the images below are very graphic
Last week the City of San Angelo closed its shelter for what officials said was a cockroach infestation. What was not revealed until now was the complete filth inside of the shelter and it involved more than just cockroaches.
During the City of San Angelo's council meeting on Thursday the issue was a main talking point during the public comment segment. A number of people, including a board member of the Concho Valley PAWS Cenny Flores, shared surprising news. She claimed that during this time period PAWS attempted to help the shelter by donating kennels and offering volunteers. But for undisclosed reasons the shelter denied her help.
City Manager Daniel Valenzuela told the crowd that the City is working on a plan and will be announcing it soon. Many fear that this will be the start of a euthaniza policy for the dogs. Over the past few years San Angelo's shelter has attempted to be a no-kill shelter.
Since that time the shelter has been over populated, has had outbreak in various diseases, and now has had an extreme bug infestation.

PermalinkThe shelter wasn't like that back when they would let the public walk thru and look at the animals available for adoption. There is no accountability without some sort of public oversight. Open it back up to the public and this problem will fix itself.

PermalinkWhoever ran that shelter is solely to blame for the filth. He/she should be stripped naked and force to live in one of those shit stained boxes for a couple of weeks, and promptly fired upon release. That is just pure damn laziness and don't give a damn.
