SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo man was arrested on Thursday morning after for not only robbing a convenience store but for sending the female cashier to the hospital.

According to the San Angelo Police Department, on Jul. 28 at around 3:15 a.m., officers with the SAPD were dispatched to 1322 S. Abe, the Stripes, in reference to a Robbery in progress.

Officers arrived on the scene and learned that the suspect, later identified as Nathaniel Lohman, 24, had fled the scene on foot. Bystanders around the Stripes spotted Lohman running and pointed officers in the right direction.

Officers quickly established a perimeter around the area. They were able to locate Lohman hiding in a backyard of a residence in the 1200 block of S. Abe.

Lohman was taken into custody and SAPD’s Criminal Investigation Division was requested to assist with the investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed that Lohman went around the cashier’s counter, physically assaulted the 25-year-old female cashier, and stole approximately $300 in cash and $140 in merchandise. The 25 year old female cashier was transported to Shannon Medical Center via private vehicle for minor injuries associated with the physical assault.

Lohman was charged with Robbery and was transported to the Tom Green County Jail. The SAPD would like to credit the capture of Lohman to the Officers quick response/communication and the civilian bystanders who assisted officers on scene.

It should be noted that the efforts of all involved resulted in Lohman’s arrest and the recovery of all cash/merchandise that was taken from the store.

Maybe if the clerk would have followed the company policy and only had $20 in her cash drawer, she wouldn't have been a target for this asshole.
