WATCH: Radical Left Net-Gen Guy Demands San Angelo Adopt a Green New Deal

SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo City Council was welcomed into their Thursday meeting with public comment from a young citizen of San Angelo who is attempting to push the radical New Green Deal on the City of San Angelo.

In the video above, published on Jul. 7, 2022, Nathan Terrazas offered a public comment on how the City of San Angelo should be doing more to combat climate change in San Angelo. 

In his speech, he suggested that San Angelo jump on the Green New Deal by making a "Climate Action Plan." Cities across the United States have adopted these plans to help fight carbon emissions. The places in Texas with plans like this are Houston, Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio. All of these cities have more than 10 times the amount of people, drivers, and factories as San Angelo.

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, or IPCC, these large left-leaning urban sprawls have made a promise to have "net zero" carbon emissions by 2050.

Terrezas went on to list the impacts that the city will go through If the plan is not implemented. The list included"

• On-going droughts,
• intense wildfires, and
• an increase in floods. 

"These things threaten my family and friends livelihoods as well as my own," said Terrazas. "Taking action by inserting this plan will bring reassurance to me and my loved ones of our own security and safety."

Ideas that are common with Climate Action Plans are government regulation on oil and gas, factories, and even if you can leave your vehicle running on idle while stopped.

Since it was only public comment the council did not have a comment on his speech.

Federal legislation passed for a Green New Deal was sponsored by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)in 2019 however it failed to gain traction in the U.S. Senate. According to the Washington Post, the components of the failed legislation were (and many of those components have nothing to do with droughts, wildfires, or floods):

• "Guaranteeing a job with a family-sustaining wage, adequate family and medical leave, paid vacations, and retirement security to all people of the United States."
• "Providing all people of the United States with – (i) high-quality health care; (ii) affordable, safe, and adequate housing; (iii) economic security; and (iv) access to clean water, clean air, healthy and affordable food, and nature."
• "Providing resources, training, and high-quality education, including higher education, to all people of the United States."
• "Meeting 100 percent of the power demand in the United States through clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources."
• "Repairing and upgrading the infrastructure in the United States, including . . . by eliminating pollution and greenhouse gas emissions as much as technologically feasible."
• "Building or upgrading to energy-efficient, distributed, and ‘smart' power grids, and working to ensure affordable access to electricity."
• "Upgrading all existing buildings in the United States and building new buildings to achieve maximal energy efficiency, water efficiency, safety, affordability, comfort, and durability, including through electrification."
• "Overhauling transportation systems in the United States to eliminate pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector as much as is technologically feasible, including through investment in – (i) zero-emission vehicle infrastructure and manufacturing; (ii) clean, affordable, and accessible public transportation; and (iii) high-speed rail."
• "Spurring massive growth in clean manufacturing in the United States and removing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from manufacturing and industry as much as is technologically feasible."
• "Working collaboratively with farmers and ranchers in the United States to eliminate pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the agricultural sector as much as is technologically feasible.
