DRAMATIC VIDEO: McDonald's on Southwest Blvd. Has Been Destroyed

SAN ANGELO – The McDonald's restaurant on Southwest Blvd. in San Angelo has been destroyed Monday to make way for a new one.

In the April report on building permits and inspections, the location was listed in the pending section as a $750,000.00 remodel project.

A sign posted on the door stated that the location would be suspending operations beginning May 27, 2022 and lasting until they finished requesting patrons visit the North Bryant location for service.

The McDonalds located at 520 North Bryant took about six weeks to remodel. Also, McDonalds has a permit pending to add another location at the 1800 block of South Bryant.

Watch the video below of the building being torn down by an excavator Monday evening.  Be sure and watch the video to the end!

The choice of language in the headline for this story is sophomoric.  The use of the word "destroyed" implies that a natural disaster or perhaps a fire "destroyed" the structure. The article describes a deliberate demolition, which is an entirely different thing.  I politely suggest increased attention to journalistic standards.  They are frequently ignored here.
