WATCH: City to Tear Down Iconic Sculpture Despite No Ties to the Confederacy
SAN ANGELO, TX – The City of San Angelo will meet tomorrow to discuss the future of the "Ran" sculpture in civic league park.
According to the city council agenda, on May 3, the council will decide if the sculpture will be torn down. The “Ran” sculpture was designed by John Raimondi and constructed of Corten Steel with the help of Central High School students in 1979.
Across America the woke, leftist mob has forced the hand of cities and counties to remove statues with any connection to the Confederacy. This sculpture has zero ties to the confederacy or that issue.
The only reason the statue will be torn down is because of the wear and tear it has suffered throughout the years.
The item is on the consent agenda and will likely be approved.

This whole story, when coupled with its headline, is simply idiotic.
If the sculpture has no connection with the Confederacy why mention the Confederacy at all ?
"Across America the woke, leftist mob has forced the hand of cities and counties to remove statues with any connection to the Confederacy. This sculpture has zero ties to the confederacy or that issue."
There is no journalism here, but rather babblings of meaningless garbage. Just state why the damn thing is being taken down instead of puking any reference to "...woke, leftist mob..."nonsense.
I find myself ever glad I don't live in San Angelo's intellectually diminished space any more.
