Trend Furniture Burglary Accomplice Back Behind Bars

A co-defendant in the Trend Furniture burglary was arrested on Monday for violating the conditions of her probation, following a guilty plea entered on April 24 in Judge Weatherby’s 340th District Court.

Liela Yvette Morales, 33, was sentenced to four years probation on April 24, when she plead guilty to her role in the theft of approximately $30k dollars of furniture from the Trend Furniture warehouse on Nov.11, 2013. Morales and co-defendants Veronica Estrada and Aaron Wilde were ordered by the court to additionally jointly pay restitution in the amount of $2,218.97.

Six violations of the probation were listed in a report filed at the court, including failure to make payments, failure to provide information inability to pay, failure to provide court-ordered documents, failure to complete 160 hours of community service, and failure to report a change of address within seven days.

A motion to revoke Morales’ probation was filed with the court on July 31, and Morales was booked into the county jail on Aug. 11. She is currently being held in lieu of a $50k bond.

Prior to the plea and hearing in April, Morales had admitted to helping Aaron Wilde, Mark Serrano, Veronica Estrada and Heath Chesser load furniture from the warehouse into a trailer attached to Serrano’s vehicle on the night of the burglary. She further described how she’d helped unload the wares at Serrano’s residence located  in the 1400 block of Irving St.

After four days of trial, Mark Serrano was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment for his role in the burglary. A final defendant, Roy Heath Chesser, is scheduled for a jury trial on Sept. 22 in Judge Walther’s 51st District Court.

Poor girl, she violated her probation. That means she will be out later today with an extra year of probation added on. She is years and years and about 50 probation violations away from at least 6 months in jail... She's just a pup!
