WATCH: Mayor Gunter Shares Displeasure with Suddenlink Following Massive Outage
SAN ANGELO, TX — Mayor Brenda Gunter on Tuesday made a public comment expressing her concern for San Angelo citizens regarding continuous Suddenlink outages.
Mayor Gunter began the City Council meeting on Mar. 15 by shedding light on a serious issue that occurred on downtown San Angelo last weekend.
“I know this past week that there were many people that experienced dramatic problems with their Suddenlink systems,” stated Mayor Gunter. She went on to say that some businesses have had an outage for nine days.
During the outage credit card machines and phone lines went down. This cause a flock of individuals to raid ATMs leaving them empty.
“This service that we are getting from Suddenlink is unacceptable,” said Mayor Gunter. “I encourage all citizens to continue to work to make sure that Suddenlink understands what poor service will cost them as a business.”

I’m sorry that it took a massive outage like this, but at least you now personally see what many of us have been dealing with for years.
This is a company that seems to have limitless resources for exorbitant door to door mail campaigns for new customers. But when you’re an existing customer with outages, you’ll be stuck in a circular robotic system of nopes, because they apparently can’t staff the service side of their business.

PermalinkThe only reason she said anything is because it affects her business downtown. That is all our mayor cares about.
