SAN ANGELO – The arctic cold front headed to the Concho Valley will drop wind chill values in to the single digits during the day Wednesday creating potential pipe-bursting dog-killing  conditions.

Meteorologists with the National Weather Service office in San Angelo say the cold front will be relatively dry Wednesday with very cold conditions the main threat.  As the day progresses, temperatures will continue to drop and light freezing precipitation will intensify.

Wednesday night expect freezing rain and sleet region wide and bridges and overpasses could be iced over by early Thursday morning creating hazardous and dangerous driving conditions.

The NWS may issue a Winter Weather Advisory for Wednesday night into Thursday as the precipitation increases.

Temperatures will drop below freezing Tuesday night and remain below the freezing mark until Thursday afternoon.

The chance for freezing precipitation starts at 20% tonight and increases to 50% Wednesday night.

Residents are urged to protect pipes, pets and plants now to prevent damage during this significant weather event.

This is a developing situation and this information will be updated as conditions warrant.

Yeah so they say, however San Angelo gets the very bottom of the graduating class of meteorologists here who can't even open the back door to look outside and predict what the weather is going to do. It will be cold, I'll give them that, but there won't be icy conditions like they predict, I can promise you that one......

“Pipe bursting dog killing conditions”

Another sensationalized journalism piece by Mr. Green. What a joke. It is winter in West Texas correct?
