SAN ANGELO – A San Angelo businessman has endorsed Leland Lacy for Tom Green County Court at Law #2 Judge.

"My name is Dwain Grider. I am a senior account manager for a major chemical company that offices here in San Angelo, TX. This email is written as public endorsement in support of Mr. Leland Lacy, who is running for Judge of Tom Green County Court at Law #2. I have had the distinct honor and privilege of knowing Leland for several years now, both as a friend, and as a stellar chief prosecutor and assistant D.A. Leland brings the right mix of integrity, experience, and foresight to his proceedings in the court. He has been a fierce advocate for the constituents of Tom Green County since day 1. Leland Lacy has been described as tenacious and a hard worker when it comes to the rigorous dockets of the courts he has worked. As a citizen of this great county and community, I truly appreciate this approach and know he is the person to get the arduous task of catching up the backlog due to Covid. Leland seeks to keep the bench he will preside over as an arbitrary instrument of the law, by the law, and for the law to benefit the citizens of this great county. This can only be done if the law is applied fairly and accurately, which Leland has always done. Leland has worked his entire career here in this county and for this court, rather than some who have traveled out and went into private practice to chase the dollar.....he chosen to stay and fight to make our county safer. Leland is also a dedicated family man with a strong sense of community. Both of his boys, Lane and Luke attend Wall ISD and are great kiddos with great academics. His wife is a well-known and respected real estate professional here in San Angelo, both heavily involved in various charities and non-profit organizations. They attend Sierra Vista UMC regularly and give of their time as needed. I hope it is obvious that I hold Leland Lacy in the highest of regards. I believe we would all be blessed to have Leland Lacy presiding over Tom Green County Court at Law #2. He brings an experience level that nobody within this race can rival."

Okay, it's an endorsement, albeit not a very supportive or convincing one, it is at least a put together one that the warehouse accountant can be proud of. The part I have to contend, as a member of the community and a family man is the part where Leland has on 2 seperate occasions for 2 different misdemeanor charges, dismissed the cases without a look at the evidence... the first experience sucked and maybe nobody would believe that because it is here-say but the second time I got smart, "other citizens may need to do the same", and I recorded his secretary telling us quite matter of factly that Leland would not pursue our second case. The timing of paperwork and supporting evidence is what's important about it. You see a person in Lelands capacity, serving us, is supposed to make an informed decision using his best discretion... to everyone in the legal system except Leland, that means you have to base your decision on the facts... I wrote a statement and left evidence in files that had not yet been received by his office... Leland's secretary told us BEFORE they saw 1 shred of documentation that he wasn't pursuing simple misdemeanor harassment charges. So now we live next to a felon in possession of a firearm who knows I called the cops on him. The only thing in this community keeping MY family safe is the 2A and the local police force... I didn't like our broken system before. Forget Leland Lacy for judge, boy do your job as an assistant to the D.A. with integrity first. I have LOTS of recorded evidence to support all of these claims. I would be proud to show it off... it's not like it could put me in any more danger now. VOTE ANDREW GRAVES!
