Grand Jury Indicts San Angelo Men for Convenience Store Robbery

SAN ANGELO, TX- Two San Angelo men have been indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury for robbing a Stripes Convenience store.

On November 11, 2021, San Angelo police were dispatched to a Stripes Convenience Store, located at 1821 North Bryant Boulevard regarding a robbery.

Officers met with the victim who informed them that he stood by the door while two male subjects grabbed an 18 pack of Michelob Ultra and tried to stop them from leaving. The male subjects shoved and punched the victim and ran out of the store.

Two hours later, investigators were notified about a drive by shooting that took place at the 2200 block of Chestnut Street. Contact was made with the residence and two subjects, identified as Noah Carson and J-Lynn Dupree Navarro. Both Carson and Navarro were wearing the same clothing the subjects were wearing in the Stripes Convenience Store robbery.

Navarro was arrested on unrelated charges and refused to speak with the affiant while Carson was not detained or questioned.

The next day, a detective requested to help the investigator question Carson. Carson confessed to being at the Stripes store and stated that it was not supposed to happen like it did and that he and Navarro just wanted the beer. Carson also confirmed that it was he and Navarro in the photos provided by Stripes.

Carson and Navarro were booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility, and both were released on $50,000.00 bond.

Robbery is a second-degree felony which carries a possible 2 years in jail and a $10,000.00 fine.
