14 Candidates Battle at Christoval Forum

CHRISTOVAL, TX — There were 14 candidates vying for various county positions, including Tom Green County Judge, at the Christoval Community Center on Thursday night.

Featured for the first time were the two candidates for Tom Green County Clerk, incumbent Christina Urbano and businesswoman Lupe Gomez. Also featured were the two candidates for Tom Green County Court at Law #2 Andrew Graves and Leland Lacy.

County Judge candidates Lane Carter, Joe Hyde, Todd Kolls and Tommy Usery were next.

The fireworks happened during the questioning of the Precinct 4 County Commissioners race. There, incumbent Bill Ford defended attacks from challengers Shawn Nanny, Derrick Garnett, Coco Simpson, Lori Wilson, and Dusty Barton. Christoval has become ground zero for the Precinct 4 Commissioner's race.

All candidates are Republicans who are competing in the March 1, 2022 Primary Election. There are no Democrats vying for any county position this year. Watch the entire taped forum above.

This positon is more powerful than San Angelo Mayor... it requires someone who is both honest and committed to the community as a whole... this brand of political rhetoric is divisive and exclusionary.
