SAN ANGELO – San Angelo Police Officers and Firefighters pulled a man out of a submerged vehicle that had crashed into the Concho River Monday night.
According to officers at the scene, emergency personnel were dispatched to the 500 block of Veterans memorial Drive at about 10:23 p.m. Monday night for a motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, they found a car fully submerged in the river.

According to Lt. Craig Thomason, firefighters and police officers got into the water immediately to attempt to extract any individuals in the submerged vehicle.
Reporters at the scene observed an individual being placed in an ambulance which drove away at a high rate of speed.
Thomason said the unidentified individual was extracted from the vehicle with unknown injuries.
The type of vehicle was not released while the investigation was underway.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Police and Firefighters on the scene were waiting for a tow truck to arrive to remove the vehicle from the water.
No more information is available at this time.
Police are expected to release more information Tuesday.

Oh my goodness gracious Yantis, you were right, that video was so intense I'm going to have to buy me a new chair now... Sitting in mine watching this video, I clenched so tight, by butt cheeks tore a chunk clean out of the seat of my chair.... What a giant 'tard you are....

PermalinkYou beat me to it, Ding, although I won't resort to name-calling. The follow-up story about the driver having died even has a link to this story with a warning that it might be too intense for some viewers, LOL! If a video from 100 yards away of someone being loaded into an ambulance is too intense for anybody, they need to put on their pj's and get under the bed.
