The southbound lanes of North Bryant Blvd. are blocked near 6th Street as police and rescue crews clean up a two-vehicle accident. Police are arresting one of the parties in the crash, we don't know which one or why. And, there's a blonde lady walking around the crash scene with a real, live lizard on her head. The crash occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m.
Update 1:11 p.m.
The crash involved a Mazda Tribute and a Ford F-150. It appears that the Japanese-manufactured SUV hit the Ford truck. The lady with the lizard is still here.
Update 1:24 a.m.
From the San Angelo Police Department: There were no injuries. The blonde lady with the lizard was in her Ford F-150 waiting to turn left on to N. Bryant northbound from 6th Street in front of Cartown Hyundai. The male driver of the Tribute, southbound on Bryant, told police that he was distracted by his baby in the backseat. He turned around momentarily to tend to the child, and when he turned back around around looked, he was running the red light and could not miss crashing into the F-150 with the blonde lady and the lizard.
Police discovered that the driver of the Tribute had outstanding city warrants and arrested him after giving him a citation for running a red light. The baby was in good spirits and the lizard was unharmed.
Bryant lanes southbound at the Houston-Harte will be closed until 1:45 p.m. to finish removing the crashed vehicles.
