SAN ANGELO, TX –– A mid-day crash backed up traffic in one of San Angelo's busiest intersections after a motorcyclist crashed into the back of a vehicle. The crash caused the closure of all eastbound lanes on Sherwood Way.
Initial scanner reports indicated a passenger car and a motorcycle had been involved in a major motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Sunset Dr. and Sherwood Way. Reports of an individual laying in the ground prompted an ambulance to the scene.
According to Officer Welch of the SAPD, the black Honda motorcycle was traveling east on Sherwood Way and the gray Toyota passenger car was traveling west on Sherwood Way.
Witnesses at the scene told officers that when the driver in the Toyota attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Sunset Dr. on a yellow light, the motorcyclist split lanes between two cars and struck the back of the car.
The driver was transported to Shannon Medical Center to be evaluated, but no major injuries have been reported at this time.
While official citations are pending, SAPD indicated the motorcyclist may face citations.

Let them all be organ donors. I'm sick of these testosterone fueled idiots using city streets and county roads and highways as if they were the Laguna Seca raceway. Absolutely no sympathy for any of the crotch rocket mafia when they end up splattered on the pavement due to their reckless and thoughtless disregard for the safety of others.
