Woman Arrested After Holiday Shopping Heist

ABILENE, TX –– A 39-year-old woman is facing criminal charges after she allegedly used magnets to steal from local businesses.

According to court documents, Tanna Mabrey stole more than $800 in merchandise from Academy Sports by using strong magnets to remove security devices.

Mabrey was observed entering a dressing room with a pile of clothes and a large bag. When police arrived at the scene, Mabrey was arrested and transported to the Taylor County Jail.

She has been charged with a State Jail Felony for theft and  Possession of a Criminal Instrument, a Class C misdemeanor.

Mabrey's bond has been set at $7,500.
