EXCLUSIVE: San Angelo Sanctuary City for the Unborn Petition Delivered Friday

SAN ANGELO, TX – The group that is attempting to turn San Angelo into a Sanctuary City for the Unborn submitted a petition that would put the issue on the May ballot.

The group, Mark Dickson, Dee Herring, Karen Jordan, Ryan Buck, and Paul Shero, on Dec. 10, brought the petition filled with over signatures of over 1,500 registered San Angelo voters.

"These are the petition sheets that we were able to gather over the last month," said Dee Herring while holding up the massive stack of papers. "We had 14 churches in San Angelo that came together and showed an interest in the sanctuary city for the unborn process so we have formed this committee and have numerous meeting with the churches and leaders."

This is how the majority of the signatures were gathered.

The ordinance being introduced will basically outlaw abortions from being performed in San Angelo. There is however one exception to the rule.

"The ordinance that we are presenting today only has one provision, if the life of a mother is in danger," said Pastor Ryan Buck, one of the main leaders of the group. "That would be a very personal decision that a physician, a woman, and probably her husband would make. But when they bring up the issue of rape and incest, less than one percent of abortion happen because of rape in this country and less than half of one percent happen because of incest. The vast majority of the abortion industry provides abortion for people to use them as a form of birth control."

Can anyone in this group even carry a child to full term? They look too old or have the wrong equipment.

Those who have not been there really need to shut the hell up.
