VIDEO: Walmart Theft, Crash and Foot Pursuit Ends in Arrest of Two, Suspect Transported to Hospital

 

A couple attempting to steal an undisclosed amount of wares from Walmart was apprehended Friday evening after a short vehicle and foot pursuit and crash in southwest San Angelo.

Sergeant Cade Solsbery of the San Angelo Police Department said that the couple were ale to evade Walmart’s loss prevention staff and entered a vehicle with a male subject driving.

Officer Berrie of the SAPD’s Lake Division attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle on Southwest Blvd by Green Meadow, however they actively evaded them for about three blocks, Solsbery said.

The couple, driving a silver Impala, crashed into a parked blue Chevy Trailerblazer in the 3200 block of Rockbrook. The female suspect was taken into custody at the scene and the male fled on foot, resulting in a perimeter being set up around the area. 

Solsbery said, “We were able to catch him in the 3200 block of Southland”.

The total value of the items stolen and the circumstances surrounding the theft have not yet been disclosed, however those details are being currently investigated. 

"I don’t know if they actually got away with anything or if she dropped it while she was trying to get away," Solsbery said.  "We have an officer that’s trying to find all that out."

 Update 9:42 p.m.

Sergeant Solbery stated that police have identified the woman as Felisha Lee, 28 years old. She has been transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. Lee has an extensive criminal history in Tom Green County, including over three counts of forgery, two thefts by check, one DWI and one sale tointoxicated person, as well as numerous warrants for contempt of court and failure to appear. 

The man has not yet been positively identified as he continues to provide false information. He is currently suffering an alleged arm injury.

Update 1:09 a.m.

The male suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Jacob Wood. He was booked on charges of evading in a motor vehicle, evading on foot, resisting arrest, fail to ID, and warrants. Wood has a history in Tom Green and Midland Counties.
