Democrat O'Rourke Skips San Angelo on First Campaign Swing

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Beto O'Rourke campaign will not be stopping in San Angelo during his first round of campaign appearances this week.

As previously reported, on Nov. 15, Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke announced that he is running for Texas Governor as a democrat.

This means the campaign trail starts now. Today, Beto held a rally in Fort Stockton. He will continue his tour by stopping at another seven Texas cities including Abilene.

The Beto team claims that they will be beginning and ending their tour in West Texas. San Angelo has been left off of that list.

The last time Beto was in town, in Jun. 2021, he held a rally at the Murphey Performance Hall in City Hall. The event had an extremely low turnout.

During the last gubernatorial race Abbott won Tom Green County by 74.43% of the vote. During the same election cycle Beto lost the Ted Cruz by 44 percentage points in Tom Green County.
