UPDATE: Dangerous Suspect Reported in Custody

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A perimeter has been set up at an apartment complex Tuesday on the northside of San Angelo.

As previously reported, Nov. 9 at around 9:15 a.m., deputies with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to Shannon Medical Center Downtown for the report of a female shooting victim. For more see: DEVELOPING: Law Enforcement Responds to Shannon's ER for Female Gunshot Victim

After hours of searching, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office has located the shooter at the Cheyenne Crossing Apartments, located on 31st St. between Grape Creek and Oakes.

Currently two people have been taken out of the apartment, one male and one female, but the main suspect has barricaded himself inside. The San Angelo Police Department's SWAT team has now been dispatched to the scene.

Reporters on scene claim that the law enforcement is currently asking that "D'wayne" come out of the apartment. It is unknown at this time if the suspect is armed. 

Reporters on scene indicate that Texas Rangers appear to be at the apartment. Long guns have been drawn by law enforcement.

They are asking for the public to avoid the area.

UDPATE 2:15 P.M.

Reporters on scene confirmed that someone has been placed into custody and put into the back of a patrol unit.

At one point Dispatch asked if the suspect was in custody and the deputies confirmed.

Units are now being disregarded from the scene.

Sheriff Nick Hanna has confirmed that the SWAT team was actually an SRT team and there were no Texas Rangers on scene. For more see:
