WATCH: Popular Houston Congressman Dan Crenshaw Rocks West Texas Legislative Summit
SAN ANGELO, TX – Rockstar Republican Congressman Dan Crenshaw was in San Angelo Wednesday for the West Texas Legislative Summit and sat down with San Angelo LIVE! Publisher Joe Hyde for an exclusive and wide ranging interview.
Crenshaw talked about his Avenger's action movie remake. The short YouTube film about uniting the Republican Party raised over a million dollars through streaming ads alone making it a huge success. The Congressman thinks the movie is great move to entice young people onto the Republican side. He is also trying to reach the youth through a tour of college campuses which he is planning and talks of the success of his recent July 4th celebration in Houston.
"The HR-1 is not going to pass thanks to the filibuster which shows no signs of stopping," Crenshaw says. "The bill would basically spell the end of the Republic." But at the same time the Congressman says that the people must not lose faith in the voting system and decide to opt out or boycott the upcoming elections because they are upset with the results of the 2020 election. "You need to get over it and think about the future," he says.
Speaking on healthcare cost Crenshaw says "the real question in healthcare is 'how to take care of the uninsured population' You have to look at health care the way you look at food. You give the person who can't afford the Service a vocher to pay for the service while at the same time allowing the market forces to keep quality high and prices low."
