Convicted San Angelo Perv Indicted for Touching Another Teen

SAN ANGELO, TX – A convicted sex offender from San Angelo has been indicted for molesting a teenager on multiple occasions.

According to court documents, Jerry Russell, 38, has been indicted for aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact.

The indictment came after a 14-year-old girl, who had been traveling with family, made an outcry that she had been sexually assaulted two weeks prior to Apr. 8, 2021.

The teen alleged that a 38-year-old man that she knew had digitally penetrated her.

The man in question, Jerry Russell, of San Angelo, met with Tom Green County Sheriff Deputies on Apr. 16. During the meeting Russell admitted to the assault as well as telling deputies that he was aroused prior to touching the child.

The meeting ended after Russell told the deputies that he committed the act two or three times, prior to the most recent event, in the last year.

Russell was then arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. He was booked into the Tom Green County Detention Facility on Apr. 16 and was released three days later on a $100,000 bond.

He has a post indictment reporting hearing scheduled for Aug. 25 at 8:30 a.m.
