AUSTIN, TX – President Donald Trump Monday endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in his bid for re-election. Paxton has been embattled for several years accused of wrong doing and is facing challengers in his bid for re-election in the 2022 Republican Primary.
Paxton met with Trump when the former President made a trip to the border wall earlier this year.
Here is Trump's statement endorsing Paxton: "Attorney General Ken Paxton has been bravely on the front line in the fight for Texas, and America, against the vicious and very dangerous Radical Left Democrats, and the foolish and unsuspecting RINOs that are destroying our Country. Ken is strong on Crime, Border Security, the Second Amendment, Election Integrity and, above all, our Constitution. He loves our Military and our Vets. It is going to take a PATRIOT like Ken Paxton to advance America First policies in order to Make America Great Again. Ken has my Complete and Total Endorsement for another term as Attorney General of Texas. He is a true Texan who will keep Texas safe—and will never let you down!"
Paxton is being challenged in the GOP Primary by former Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman and Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush.
The spring primary election is usually held the first Tuesday in March. Because census numbers from the 2020 census were delayed because of the pandemic, the Texas Legislature will not be able to complete redistricting until at least October and the Primary election could be pushed back to May or later.

PermalinkWhen one considers the kind of lunatic soulless slime Trump is, his endorsement of Paxton provides another reason to vote against him... among others.
