San Angelo Man Sent to Prison for Dealing Drugs

SAN ANGELO,TX – A San Angelo man has been sentenced to five years in prison for the manufacturing and delivery of cocaine.

On November 29th, 2020, Larry Lopez was stopped by a San Angelo police officer for driving with no headlights. The officer pulled Lopez over who said he was trying to escape from another car that was following him. The officer mentioned that there were no other cars in the area.

When the officer asked Lopez to exit the vehicle, Lopez said there were people walking around him and the officer.

Lopez was placed under arrest for the traffic violation and while searching Lopez’s vehicle the officer found small bags with a white powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine. Along with the bags of cocaine, a bag of marijuana and scales were found as well.

Larry Lopez was charged with manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance, namely cocaine, of more than 4 grams or more but less than 200 grams which is a 2nd degree felony.

Lopez pleaded guilty to the offense of possession of a controlled substance and will serve five years in prison and was also ordered to pay $180.00 in restitution.
