EDINBURG, TX – Rio Grande City Border Patrol Station (RGC) agents encountered 229 illegal immigrants in two large groups Tuesday.
Agents working in Roma Monday night encountered a large group of migrants as they walked away from the Rio Grande into the United States. Agents identified 94 of the migrants as family members, 11 as unaccompanied children, and 18 as single adults. The 123 migrants are from the countries of Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Ecuador, and Nicaragua.
Tuesday morning, RGC agents working in La Grulla observed a large group of migrants walking north from the Rio Grande. The group of 106 migrants was comprised of 56 family members, 10 unaccompanied children, and 40 single adults. Thirty-two of the forty single adults are citizens of Nicaragua.
This is the eighth group of 100 or more migrants encountered by Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol (RGV) agents within the previous five days.
Border Patrol processed the subjects accordingly.
Even with the spread of the COVID-19 virus, human smugglers continue to try these brazen attempts with zero regard for the lives they endanger nor to the health of the citizens of our great nation. The U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector will continue to safeguard the nation and community against these criminal elements.

Recently I have learned that throughout the 90's and into the early 2000's the numbers of undocumented immigrants attempting to cross routinely achieved the same numbers we are seeing this year and that we saw in 2019, what we are seeing now is nothing new historically, it just seems higher because the numbers declined so much after the 2008 recession. It's a manufactured crisis from the right because they need something to gripe about Biden and they have nothing else since he doing so well.

PermalinkOr maybe it’s a serious issue that’s been used as a political tool on both sides for decades. Saying we’ve seen something similar before doesn’t make it ok now.

PermalinkGotta love those supposed “non-partisan” organizations with an obvious agenda. Like I’ve said no shortage of leftist propaganda ;)
