SAN ANGELO, TX – Students in the San Angelo Independent School District will receive free meals for the entire 2021 – 2022 School year according to the district Wednesday.
For the 2021-2022 school year, San Angelo ISD will offer healthy meals each school day to all students at no cost regardless of income eligibility. Typically, students will need to meet income eligibility requirements in order to qualify for free and reduced-price meals.
However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance which allows San Angelo ISD to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year without applying for the free or reduced lunch benefit status.
The program is being funded by federal taxpayer dollars under the Biden Administration guidance.
