Texas DPS Makes Statement About 2 Killed Law Enforcement Officers in Eden

This shall not stand. This aggression shall not stand in representation of my community. This is not what we are about my fellow valley dwellers. We must rise up with one voice and scream not in my backyard! Not in my neighborhood! Not in my community! Whatever your feelings/belief/sense of justice is toward law enforcement, whatever platform or agenda you hold as your truth, whatever higher power you submit and commit your allegiance to, this will never be accepted or allowed in our community. These are the same men and women we go to church with, shop at HEB with, watch a movie at Tinseltown with, drink a beer at the rodeo with, share our lives and fellowship with, make the Concho Valley a community with. These are two of our brothers that are never going home to their families and I am not ok with that. If we do not find a way to come together as a community and in one voice proclaim our dedication and desire for unity and peace then we have failed as individuals. And I’m not ok with that.  I pray for the deputies who paid the ultimate sacrifice and will never answer at roll call again, I pray for the families whose loved one will never walk through the front door again. Above all, I pray for healing within our community, locally and worldwide, and with a firm reliance on the grace and protection of divine Providence, that we may become whole again.
