HOUSTON, TX – Governor Greg Abbott today held a press conference in Houston on the importance of election integrity legislation this session. The Governor named election integrity as an emergency legislative item during his State of the State address in February. Governor Abbott was joined for the press conference by Senator Paul Bettencourt and Representative Briscoe Cain, who have both filed several pieces of legislation to enhance election integrity in Texas
The Governor discussed the need to pass laws this session to prevent election officials from jeopardizing the election process and encouraging voter fraud through the abuse of mail ballots and drive-thru voting. He also called for more transparency at the polls by ensuring that poll watchers in Texas are not obstructed from observing the counting of ballots.
"Our objective in Texas is to ensure that every eligible voter gets to vote and that only eligible ballots are counted," said Governor Abbott. "In the 2020 election, we witnessed actions throughout our state that could risk the integrity of our elections and enable voter fraud, which is why I made election integrity an emergency item this session. Thank you to Senator Bettencourt and Representative Cain for their leadership on this important issue and drafting legislation to protect free and fair elections in the state of Texas."

The real objective in Texas is to suppress certain voters. Just how much verifiable election fraud happened in Texas during the last election? Anyone? The GOP is simply trying to guarantee their own election, they are the do whatever it takes to win party. Look for a lawsuit after they enact their suppression tactics.

PermalinkWhy no ID? Only citizens should be allowed to vote! Period! I couldn’t care less who anyone votes for, that’s there choice whether anyone else likes it or not! Stop making excuses for people wanting to have a fair election!! The fact that a single vote is counted anywhere in this country that shouldn’t have been counted is #1 reason to correct the system! You have to show ID to go in a liquor store, but cig’s! To identify yourself! So get off your Oppression Excuse and Skin color! Give a real reason you instead of hiding behind BS excuses! They proved deceased people voted, some people voted twice because they moved and still mailed in absentee ballots, more people voted in a lot of states than the had registered voters! Some were actually handed money to vote for candidate’s, etc! On top of issues that happened at polling places, locking our poll watchers and flat out lying about why they did so! Water main broke, quitting for the evening,etc, etc! Have video of it to prove it, cameras were inside several of the polling places and swarm affidavits! And you can bury your head in the sand and say it wasn’t enough to change the outcome of anything! Doesn’t matter at this point does it. But it should matter to all of us for future elections! Me personally! I think they are scared to death of what evidence they have! That’s why John Roberts Supreme Court Coward was screaming about how he didn’t want to even hear about it! Claiming the rioters would come for them! If he’s to scared to do his job then he should retire! Period! He doesn’t have the right to make a decision without even having a discussion!
