H-E-B: Mask Policy Will Remain In Effect

SAN ANGELO, TX -- After initially announcing it would urge rather than require customers to wear masks, H-E-B updated store policy once again.

In a statement released on Friday, the store confirmed customers will be expected to continue wearing masks inside stores.

The Texas favorite acknowledged they have seen strong compliance with mask-wearing and are thankful. But are asking all shoppers to continue complying and will provide masks to those who do not have one.

"The ending of mask ordinances puts real pressure on retailers to enforce an emotional topic for many. We ask for kindness and understanding from our customers in our expectation of them to wear masks in our stores," said H-E-B in a statement. "Also, we understand some customers cannot wear a mask due to medical exceptions. We request all customers adhere to the Covid-19 protocols we have in place while shopping."

The following safety protocols have been in place since the pandemic began wearing masks, proper handwashing, plexiglass partitions, sanitization, and social distancing.

"As Texans helping Texans, let’s continue to protect each other while in our stores. Let’s keep wearing masks, to protect yourself, our fellow Texans, and our dedicated Partners who are committed to helping our communities throughout this pandemic and every other crisis this state may face."
