Power Crisis: Beto to the Rescue!

AUSTIN, TX — Robert “Beto” O’Rourke may be using the Texas power grid crisis to up his profile to challenge Gov. Greg Abbott who is up for re-election in 2022. He was on MSNBC today stating that climate change was the ultimate cause of the current electricity grid crisis.

O’Rourke opened his remarks declaring there was “no incentive or mandate” in the State of Texas’ current power grid system to incentivize building additional power generating capacity. But, ominously, the results of this will “More likely be more frequent, more intense, and more deadly because the climate continues to change thanks to our emissions and excesses and our inaction in the face of what has happened,” O’Rourke said.

O’Rourke rattled off more of his opinions about the grid, including that the Texas power grid is not connected to the national grid. The Texas grid is not weatherized and “the State government does not believe in climate change,” he said.

O’Rourke, financed by hundreds of millions from leftist activists primarily on both coasts, along with Big Tech executives, nearly defeated U.S. Senator Ted Cruz who was up for re-election in 2018. In 2020, O’Rouke moved further left and ran for the Democrat Party nomination for president. Despite declaring that he would confiscate every Americans’ assault rifle, he never attracted more than low single-digit support and dropped out well before former Vice President Joe Biden won.

Cruz is in a little hot water himself. Late yesterday, someone tweeted a photo of Cruz on an airliner headed to Cancun on vacation while his state froze.

The controversy grew so loud that Cruz was forced to issue a statement that he was cutting his vacation short.

O’Rourke was a favorite and frequent visitor to the Concho Valley during the 2018 U.S. Senate race.

What ever happen to GLOBAL WARMING? I guess with all the winter storms and such over the past 3 or so years the left had to rename their cause so it could still be argued and blame assessed to fit their agenda. The new name is now CLIMATE CHANGE. News flash folks, climate change happens with or without humans. I would need to research dates but in about what we call the middle ages, we were just coming out of an ice age. An ICE AGE now that is real climate change and humans had nothing to do with it.
