WASHINGTON, DC — On Wednesday, Jan. 6, the U.S. Congress will convene in a joint session to formally count and certify the votes cast in the Nov. 3, 2020 presidential election.
August Pfluger, a newly-elected Republican representing San Angelo’s Congressional District 11, who will be sworn in on Sunday as a member of the 117th Congress, said he will challenge the November election results.
"I will be supporting an election challenge in the U.S. House of Representatives. For our democracy to function everyone must trust in it, and millions of Americans right now do not,” Pfluger said.
"We must give the American people a full debate on all matters related to the election and the constitutional issues at hand.
"For four years Democrats colluded to tear the country apart and question the legitimacy of our democracy - they surrendered any ground to complain about a legitimate process to assess election disputes,” he concluded.
Pfluger joins a number of Republican senators and representatives who will challenge the election results on January 6. Axios reported earlier Saturday that Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) is leading a challenge to the election results in the U.S. Senate joined by 10 others.
The list of senators includes, Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), James Lankford (R-Okla.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), John Kennedy (R-La.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), and Mike Braun (R-Ind.), as well as Sens.-elect Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.).
In the U.S. House, the Wall Street Journal reported this morning that Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Tex.) and Rep. Mo Brooks (R- Ala.) have announced their intentions to dispute the results. On Dec. 15, Pfluger signed a letter along with 25 other new members of the 117th Congress requesting that Speaker Nancy Pelosi investigate the Nov. 3 election’s irregularities. Among those who signed the letter, Rep. Ronny Jackson promised New Year’s Eve that he will be “standing with Trump” on January 6. Others who signed that letter will likely join.
The senators vowing to object to the election results are demanding a commission to investigate he irregularities.
"Congress should immediately appoint an Electoral Commission, with full investigatory and fact-finding authority, to conduct an emergency 10-day audit of the election returns in the disputed states. Once completed, individual states would evaluate the Commission’s findings and could convene a special legislative session to certify a change in their vote, if needed," the senators who plan to object said in a joint statement.
In opposition to the challengers, Senator Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) posted a long, heartfelt message to his fellow Republicans rising to dispute the presidential election results on Facebook on Dec. 30.
“Let’s be clear what is happening here: We have a bunch of ambitious politicians who think there’s a quick way to tap into the president’s populist base without doing any real, long-term damage. But they’re wrong – and this issue is bigger than anyone’s personal ambitions. Adults don’t point a loaded gun at the heart of legitimate self-government,” he wrote.

What a joke of a human being. Dems gave up on the spot after his first election. She conceded. Questions sure, but it went on like any other election. Who the hell elected this moron in this county.
Your new president is Biden so accept it.

PermalinkGave up on the spot except for the 3 years of impeachment. There is extensive evidence of not only voter fraud but high treason and we are actively trying to avoid a war. You do understand that the next step if all other legal avenues fail will be a full on revolution, correct?

PermalinkHe bought the election with the greatest voter fraud team ever... all the money came from the CCP. Trump is still your President and you can feel however you want about that, the results are not in on the fraud. I wear my Trump mask around town and haven't been in one political disagreement yet, kinda makes me feel like there's nowhere near the amount of support for Joe Biden that people claim there is.

PermalinkKinda shows your arrogance if we're being honest. This was coming since the last election. The fact you don't see much Biden support..... It's Texas. What do you expect? You do realize we live in a country that doesn't revolve around just this state. I know LOTS of people in San Angelo who voted Biden. The difference is they are calm and collected people voting for what they think is right VS shoving beliefs, conspiracies and non sense in other people's faces. I don't need to have an American flag and set of bull testicles hanging off my truck to vote on what I think is right for the country.
Trump is like the WWE of politics. I laughed when he got nominated because I just thought "this is exactly what this country needs to wake up. A reality TV star and bad business man". Now it's terrifying that we have people on board with that.
I don't really like either guy to be honest. We need a change and we need to get the old out of here across the board. Times have changed and the old think they created it and control it. Biden atleast can help with that movement. 2024 is probably going to make you even more mad than your are now. Wait for it and or make some changes.
California is moving here like no other. This state will be Blue before you know it.

PermalinkTrump was never president, he is just practicing to be like his hero in North Korea, a dictator. If anyone is trying to steal the election it is that orange haired wannabe dictator occupying the white house now! You can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time and apparently republicans fit in the some of the people slot, as trump has fooled them since he sleazed his way into office. Pfluger is just another of trump's lackeys and maybe trump will let him caddy for him one day if he sucks up enough! Trump lost the election, lost the people's trust as over 340,000 died while the king played golf and only worried about his legacy and election. Joe Biden is your new President, feel about it as you like!

PermalinkMeanwhile, you have that orange RumpTard, calling Georgia and begging them to "find" more votes in HIS favor. LOL Now that right there, is what "RIGGING" an election is. BYEdon 2020
