Child Predator and Now Convicted Murderer Gets Life in Prison

SAN ANGELO, TX – The man accused of stuffing his girlfriend's body in a deep freeze was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday after the District Attorney's Office gave him a plea deal.

According to the plea deal, signed on Nov. 25, William Hernandez, 39, pleaded guilty to the Murder of Selena Bradley.

In return for him admitting guilt, Hernandez will spend the rest of his life in a Texas prison. He will never be eligible for parole. He was also ordered to pay $13,385 in restitution.  Hernandez pleaded to information and was not indicted by a grand jury which speeded up the sentencing process.  A murder case in Tom Green County would typically take anywhere from 18 months to two years to reach trial but because this case was based upon information Hernandez agreed to, the trial took place about a month after the crime.

As first reported by San Angelo LIVE!, on Oct. 20, officers with the San Angelo Police Department arrested William James Martinez Hernandez, 39, for the Murder of Selena Bradley and her unborn child.

The story begins on the Oct. 16, when the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office dispatch received a call regarding a possible murder. Investigators got back with the caller on Oct. 19 and learned that it was a life long friend of Hernandez. The affidavit states that the two knew each other since they were five-years-old.

The man told the investigators that Hernandez had told him that he had done something terrible and he would go to prison for life. He later went onto  say that Hernandez informed him that there was a body in the freezer.

Investigators then talked to Hernandez's ex-girlfriend who stated that he had been dating a woman named Selena Bradley but she also went by Selena Burney. She went on to tell investigators that Hernandez lived on the 100 block of Allen St.

Later that day the original caller got back in touch with the investigators. He told them that Hernandez was aware that the "law was looking for him." The investigators then drove by the home on Allen st and found a 2015 Chevy 1500 pickup that belonged to Hernandez. He later saw the truck leave and drive to the 1100 block of S. Chadbourne St.

Later that day a search warrant was issued and executed by the San Angelo Police Department. Once the residence was secured, the officers found a freezer. According to court documents, the freezer was large enough to conceal an individual.

One of the officers on the scene was told to open the freezer. Inside was something wrapped in a tarp but the officers shut the lid and waited for more instruction. A detective was then called on scene and the tarp was taken out of the freezer.

They then opened up the tarp. The officers on scene "observed a female subject deceased in the freezer wrapped tarp. Officer were able to identify the woman as Selena Bradley. Officer distinctly pointed out that the woman had purple hair and that they used her Facebook to identify her.

The affidavit also states that Bradley had marks on her neck and on the left side of her face from being assaulted.

The final person officers spoke with before arresting Hernandez was his baby's mother. Hernandez has a four-year-old child with the woman. She told police that Hernandez had called to speak with his daughter. During the conversation he was upset and crying. He also admitting to killing Bradley during the phone call.

Following an autopsy, investigators also learned that Bradley was pregnant. Bradley had two children already and was expecting a third.

Hernandez's case was only on the Tom Green County Court Docket for a little over a month. A majority of the murder cases take years to settle out of court.

why do taxpayers have to carry the burden of people like this by paying to keep them ALIVE. This man killed TWO people, one who never even got to see the light of day. He should have never been offered a deal and should have been sentenced to DEATH. This world has lost its moral compass, its spine and most of all its legal standing as democracy. Now we the non murdering humans must fork over more money to feed this filth. Lawmakers and lawyers should be ASHAMED.
