SAN ANGELO, TX -- Tom Green County has surpassed all records of new daily Covid cases after reporting 214 new cases on Friday, November 6. The cases reported today vastly surpass the highs experienced during the summer.
According to the San Angelo Health Department, 179 of the 214 cases belong to Tom Green County residents. The new cases are showing a significant increase in cases involving patients under the age of 20.
There are currently 54 hospitalized patients and the total case count has reached 5,600.
Friday's cases were confirmed using 51 PCR tests and 163 antigen tests.

It seems like no lessons have been learned and now babies are getting sick, too. If we are not more careful, there are going to be a lot of empty seats at the dining table on Thanksgiving. Some of them won't be coming back. Can't we as a city just beat this thing? Go to the ER if you have a cough because those droplets travel more than six feet. Otherwise don't congregate, keep six feet between you and someone else. Always, always wear a mask outside your home. Rethink having people in to visit; use your yard or patio for social occasions with family members. This virus is deadly and invisible and it will last a long time, so pull your boots up and get in the saddle on this.
