SAN ANGELO, TX – If you've driven by the Rosa's on Knickerbocker Rd. lately you might have noticed the start of a new building.
According to the City of San Angelo, on September 30, an application for a building permit has been approved for Texas Burger at 1502 Knickerbocker.
Texas Burger was started in the Permian Basin in the 60s by Bobby D. Cox. He purchased the first Texas Burger after operating Danny’s Drive-In #2 in Odessa. He still owns the business today.
"Since 1967, we’ve been satisfying hungry West Texans with the most mouthwatering all-Angus hamburgers you’ve ever tasted. And each Texas Burger is topped off with our signature cherry pepper. Give us a try and go home happy!" states the Texas Burgers website.
Following the start of Texas Burger Cox was able to open restaurants such as Rosa's and Taco Villa.
The construction will start as soon as the permit itself has been accepted.
Other burger joints on Knickerbocker include: Sonic, Dairy Queen, Burger King, and Whataburger.
Comments
I’ve had them a couple of times while in the Permian Basin. They’re pretty good burgers, and will be a good addition for burger choices, along with the new Heff’s in San Angelo.
