Coronavirus: 16 New Cases Confirmed on the Last Day of August

SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Health Department officials have confirmed 16 new coronavirus cases on the last day of August.

According to the data presented by the city, the vast majority of new patients were over the age of 28.

Only two minors were included in Monday's case count: a 7-year-old male from Tom Green County and a 17-year-old male from Coke County.

The new cases bring the total positive cases to 3,233 -- an average of 20 cases a day since the first case was reported 161 days ago on March 24.

Currently, there are 27 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 complications.
