Wylie ISD Confirms First Positive Case Four Days After Starting School

 

ABILENE, TX — The Superintendent of Wylie ISD, Joey Light, has confirmed an “individual” at Wylie ISD Junior High has tested for coronavirus.

Wylie ISD began classes on Wednesday and this is the first case reported so far in the district. It is unknown at this time if the positive case refers to a student or employee of Wylie Jr. High.

According to CDC guidelines, schools are asked to used specific language when notifying parents of a positive case that can ensure the privacy of the patient,

According to the statement made available to school districts the following language will be used, “due to privacy requirements, we will not be releasing the name of the individual or details that may identify him or her.”

No one was expecting this, such a surprised. I an confused by "the first case reported so far in the district". I wonder if that "so far" means that more cases are/were expected. Just hold tight there pardner, they're coming.
