Colorado City Man Shot Three Times with a .50 Caliber AR Rifle

COLORADO, TX – A Colorado City man was released from the hospital on Thursday after suffering three gunshots from a .50 caliber Beowulf AR type rifle. 

According to KTXS, on August 16, officers with the Colorado City Police Department were dispatched to the Stripes convenience store for the report of shooting victim. 

When police arrived they discovered 26-year-old Ronald Aoyama was shot three times. He was immediately taken to the hospital and then was then airlifted to Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene for further treatment.

At that time the only information authorities knew was that two men fled the scene following the shooting. 

Authorities confirmed that Aoyama was shot three times; once in the chest and twice in the right arm. Police say that the gun used was a .50 Beowulf.

Further investigation revealed that the two men were Bernardo Perez III and his 16-year-old brother. They both were arrested after police learned that prior to the shooting Perez and Aoyama had been in a fight in the Stripes parking lot and then the juvenile shot Aoyama with the Beowulf. 

Aoyama was released from the hospital just five days after the shooting.
