DPS: Fugitive Suspect Commits Suicide Near Dog Park

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Texas Department of Public Safety gave an update on what happened at the dog park on Thursday morning. 

As previously reported, on August 13, officers with the San Angelo Police Department confirmed a suicide near the dog park on Millbrook. Here is the original story: Police: "Suspect Suicide" Near Dog Park

DPS trooper Sgt. Justin Baker has confirmed more details on what occurred.

According to Baker, on August 13, at around 8:30 a.m. special agents with the DPS with support from SAPD officers  were attempting to serve a federal warrant on a suspect for possession of child pornography. 

While attempting to arrest the suspect, he got out of his vehicle and shot himself. Special agents immediately began administering CPR but the suspect died due to his injuries.
