City: July Drag Boat Races Off Limits to the Public

SAN ANGELO, TX –The 2020 Southern Drag Boat Races, scheduled for July 11-12, will move forward as a private event. It will not be open to the general public.

According to a press release from the city. the organizers are refunding the public access tickets that they have already sold. This decision comes on the heels of Governor Abbott's direction last week limiting large gatherings in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Texas.

Middle Concho and Spring Creek parks, along with the rest of the parks around Lake Nasworthy, are closed through July 13. The section of the lake that heads toward Spring Creek and Middle Concho parks will be closed to public access during the event.

The only people in attendance will be the race participants, officials, event staff, and sponsors.
