I love how the racial demographics of this whole operation has been an unofficial litmus test for who can and can't follow instructions well enough to not screw over other people. Just keep feeding the fire people.

PermalinkI don't care what the Demographics are. And if it is not relevant to protecting the community San Angelo Live should not be posting them.
What does concern me is that I am an at risk person due to other health complications. I rarely leave my house because of this and my family members take extra precaution when we interact. When I do have to leave the house, for medical, food, or work, I ALWAYS wear a mask. But you know what? That's not for my protection that's to prevent me from spreading anything I might have to anyone else. To date I have had no symptoms of COVID-19, and I would like to keep it that way. But it is insane how many people I see not wearing face Protection or practicing 6 feet of separation from other individuals outside of members in your own home. This total lack of regard for community safety and health disgusts me. There is no reason a face covering cannot be found. It doesn't need to be a blue medical mask or an N95 mask. It can be as simple as a bandana or a t-shirt. What you are doing when you wear this face covering is preventing yourself from inadvertently spreading this virus through a cough or sneeze, or even by touching your face, where the virus might exist, and then touching something or someone else. Come on San Angelo. Be smart about this. We don't need 40nnew positive cases to occur daily in order to act responsively or to take responsibility for your own actions or inactions. I just can't believe we as a community cannon be smarter about this and act accordingly. Rant ends here.

PermalinkI hear you Jimmy. I don’t know why people are so against temporarily wearing a mask for the betterment of society and our neighbors. This is the first ever pandemic we’ve been in. Maybe it’s just American’s don’t want to be told what to do. Thank you for being a patriot and protecting lives and loving your neighbors by wearing a mask. Mask wearers are the real heroes these days. There are bumper stickers that say “look twice, save a life” for motorcycles. It’s simple to do. Now there’s “wear a mask, save lives” it’s simple to do.

PermalinkThere is no proof that cloth face masks stop the spread of viruses. That is a fact. It may be your opinion that they save lives, but that's your opinion. The WHO recommends *against* using them as a primary protective strategy. Again, that's a fact, not an opinion.

Permalinkgo ask the next surgeon you run into why they wear a mask while in the o.r. and get back to us on what is a 'fact' and 'opinion'
for a town chock full of medical experts you'd think the median income would be higher than $50k.
go figure.

PermalinkMr. Whitaker... bravo.
Those who choose not to wear masks like to spout that they are exercising their "freedoms", or masks do not work in preventing the spread of this malaise, or this whole virus thing is a hoax, or other mindless blather. In reality they are being (1) stupid, or (2) totally self-centered. I have little sympathy for either stance. Wearing a mask when one goes out is easy and inexpensive. Yes, I don't enjoy wearing mine, but I consider doing so benefits the common good as well as me.
As an aside, Herman Cain, a former Republican candidate for the presidency, attended the rally in Tuscon held by our Fatuous Fathead In Chief and chose not to wear a mask. He has now been hospitalized with Covid-19. Can you say schadenfraude?
Peace, and be well.

PermalinkTypical modern Democrat and Leftist sentiment: "Everyone who disagrees with me is a fool and deserves pain and death." No room for nuanced disagreement here, or for well-reasoned, open-minded debate. The only "smart" people are the ones who agree to tow the party line. All of the dissenting, counter-revolutionary heretics deserve the gulag or worse.

Unfortunately for Mr. Whitaker and others who don't understand the implications of the phrase, "flatten the curve," COVID-19 is like a human papilloma virus of the lungs - if you're using that organ often enough over a long enough duration of time in more than one place, you're bound to get it. Protection offers virtually no guarantee of remaining uninfected.
By all means, feel free to hold your breath.

Permalink...is alive and well and extremely contagious, however, sadly cannot be curtailed or prevented with the use of masks, or as evidenced here, by asking those affected to remain at home.
I hadn't kept tabs on ol' Herman, but I do recall all the BLM bums and ANTIFA trash huddling and cavorting in their usual herds for weeks on end, not worrying about ''social distancing'', masks or really much of anything which would ''benefit the common good".
The ad hominem attacks will continue, that's just exactly the asininity which the Left has normalized: name calling, making fun of Trump's skin color, wetting their pull-ups every time they see or hear "M.A.G.A.".

I can only imagine how the chimp cages would rattle, had huge segments of the Right thrown tantrums over the "Hope & Change" campaign slogan, shamed Obama's physical appearance, or utilized the Leftist's m.o. of attempting to browbeat political opponents into acquiescence and whining their way out of debates (see AOC: https://twitter.com/aoc/status/1027729430137827328?lang=en).
If we're going to huff and puff over "stupid, self centered" people, and their unwillingness to wear masks, let's put the blame where it obviously lies -- right in the laps of all the rioting...I mean "protesting" crack babies, social justice failures, BLM token foster pets and the 3rd and 4th generation entitlement teet suckers who took to the streets in the weeks proceeding the uptick in Covid cases.

PermalinkRita Joe, TDS is a term used for people against stupidity and yes there are plenty of us democrat, republican and independents. I hear of the Trumpie bums and racists having large gatherings without masks or any other personal protection against CV-19. You see you're mocking BLM and Antifi while being totally oblivious to the Trump rallies that are actually a catch it if you can.
The remainder of your rant is just a typical whining rant, one question was America in better economic condition in 2016 than it was in 2008? It an easy yes or no answer.

PermalinkThe orange stable genius says COVID-19 will disappear on it own, he is likely correct the downside to it is the human race will disappear along with the covid-19. Personally I have no objections to Trump supporters participating in large gatherings without wearing PPE, just don't it around me.

PermalinkIf you're tired of people imposing restrictions for you to follow even though you don't agree, it may be time for y'all conspiracy theorist's to shut up and concede for the greater good, unless you don't realize that your dumb butts leave a germy footprint behind you everywhere you go and that's why things are getting worse, not better.
I dont care your age, demographic, ignorance of current events, whatever your personal reason if you disagree, what I do care about is when your carelessness affects tons of other people.
I haven't gone to church in months now, saw a bunch of teens and 20 somethings congregating just yesterday, probably 30 or so kids together with a church group at the lake. Shame.
I'm a Christian, but even those who share my faith don't agree with my level of defense, and that's cool, y'all be stupid and gather with no masks and we'll see how things end up.
Who has to die for people to show respect? You? Your loved ones? When will the threat be treated serious enough that people act just a little bit better with hygiene? Truth is, some folks will ignorantly survive this crap themselves because they're asymptomatic, and kill or hurt tons of others in the process.
I'm going to keep on chilling, doing some home upgrades, spraying and cleaning every single item that isn't already a part of our home and trying to respect others while we ride this out, let's try to do it as peacefully as ignorant, unclean, conspiracy theorist's will allow us to do it.

Permalink... really ... there's nothing left to say that hasn't already been said. The list of "New" positive cases tells the story and pretty much says it all. Some people would rather argue over the pros & cons of wearing the mask in public places and feel that it's infringing on their rights to be told to wear a mask while out in public places.
As for myself and my short list of close friends and my family ... " We Will" wear the mask and use our personal size bottle of hand sanitizer while we are out in public and will still follow the guidelines to wash our hands "With Soap" and water before going out to the store or anyplace else! To those of you that seem to not comply with these things ... go ahead and do what you want but don't expect everyone to follow ... what ya'll decide to do.... because y'all could have "Rona" singing a little blues tune to ya'll. I'm going to continue what I've been doing since the beginning and stay safe!

I am sharing this Blues tune for your listening and viewing pleasure! Ya'll have a pleasant 4th of July and take care!

PermalinkWhat a bunch of fools, every one of you. What makes America great is that every citizen has freedoms that literally no one else in the world has. Do any of you dummies actually think that wearing a mask is going to keep you from getting the Chinese virus, 100% of the time? Nope. But it will help possibly so I choose to wear one. Is wearing a motorcycle helmet going to keep you from dying if you are in an accident? Nope. But I wear one because it improves my odds of not getting my head smashed in. Does buckling your seat belt when you get into your car mean that you will survive every accident you get into? Nope. But I do because most people die after getting thrown out the car when a bad accident occurs. Do I smoke? Nope. I choose not to because of affect it has on your health, wallet, etc. So, what I'm trying to say is that there are things in everyday life that will kill you in a second. Do we stop living? Nope. We just hopefully make choices that will improve our odds of not dying. Every person has to make the choice of how they will live their life and then live with the consequences of all your choices. Not all decisions are good and not all are bad. But each and every individual person in America has the freedom to choose how they will live their life and that is what makes this country so great and worth fighting for. Now everyone just shut up about the choices you don't agree with and live your life the way that you think will benefit you and your family.
