COSA: Don't Blow Your Leaves Into the Street

SAN ANGELO, TX – The City of San Angelo sent out a notice Friday reminding the public to not blow their leaves into the street.

The following is a press release from the City of San Angelo.

The City of San Angelo would like to remind everyone that blowing leaves and debris into the street is a violation of city ordinance. We understand that many areas in town received large hail during last night’s storm causing an extensive amount of leaves to be knocked from the trees. These leaves can be bagged and will be picked up as part of your bulk collection. The City is working with Republic Services to provide an additional bulk collection next week in the hardest hit areas of town.

City crews are out today cleaning streets and drains, but unfortunately it will take several days to get through all of the effected areas impacted by last night’s storm. The City would like to ask for your help, if possible, in removing any leaves from the curb or street in front of your residence as additional rains are predicted for this weekend. This will help ensure that that debris is not washed into our drains and inlets which could potentially cause additional flooding of our streets and other areas. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Ordinance my foot. Everyone in this city has seen lawn care companies blowing leaves off commercial properties into the streets of downtown. Oh, I guess those companies and property owners are exempt.

..would like to remind "The City of San Angelo" to repair or remove downed power lines that've been hanging to the ground since the tornado of 2017, fill in some potholes, and maybe replace some street lights -- then we'll discuss leaves.

Tell us what to do and then run right through stop signs and fail to use turn signals EVERY day.
