Police K-9 Recovering After Being Shot by Disturbed Teen

LUBBOCK, TX – The Lubbock K-9 that was shot Monday has been released from the veterinarian hospital.

As previously reported, on April 6, the Metropolitan Special Crimes Unit responded to the scene of an officer-involved shooting that occurred shortly after 11:15 a.m.

New information released to the Lubbock Avalanche Journal reveals that the Lubbock Police Officers responded to an initial call of a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 5500 block of Amherst Place. The original caller stated that a 15-year-old was at the residence with a gun. Upon arrival, officers found the subject had left the residence and began checking the area.

A K-9 and handler searched the perimeter of a house in the 5600 block of Amherst Street, near where the 15-year-old was hiding in the bushes. She then opened fire on the police K-9, striking it at least one time. The K-9 handler returned fire and shot the teen multiple times.

The 15-year-old was taken to UMC for treatment of her injuries from the K-9 bite and a possible gunshot wound. It is undetermined at this time if the gunshot wound was from the officer returning fire or self-inflicted. Upon release from UMC, the 15-year-old was taken to the Lubbock County Juvenile Justice Center and was charged with Four counts of Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, Aggravated Assault Interference with Police Service Animal, Theft of a Firearm, and Terroristic Threat.

The K-9, Fflorian, has been released from the vet, is in improving condition and is expected to make a full recovery.

Perhaps what was disturbing the teen was the dog teeth sunk into her flesh. Getting arrested is a part of the stupid criminal job description. Getting chewed up by a dog might be reasonable cause for protecting your well being.

Getting chewed up by a police K-9 is the risk one takes, when one decides to pick up a gun and become the next posterboy for Leftist gun grabbers.

K-9's fall under the same definition and are under the same protections as human police officers, and assaulting a K-9 in the process of being arrested is a felony. You don't get to complain about tight cuffs, the temperature in the back of the cop car or any other discomfort you may experience while being arrested. These are just some of the disadvantages of being an asshole who gets caught being an asshole.

The bitch got what was coming to her. Hope Fflorian makes a speedy recovery, and is rewarded for a job well done.
