SAN ANGELO, TX – The San Angelo Police Department notified the public Monday they will not be going to minor crashes during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
According to the SAPD, on April 6, In an effort to reduce the risk of unnecessary exposure of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) to our officers and citizens, drivers who are involved in vehicle crashes with no injury and no disabling damage on private or public property should exchange Driver License information, license plate and vehicle information, insurance information, and complete the Driver's Crash Report (TxDOT Form CR-2).
The link to the corrected CR-2 form is available on the Department's website homepage at www.sanangelopolice.org.
Please note, the form is only compatible with Internet Explorer and some versions of Firefox and Safari. Chrome and Edge are NOT compatible. The form also requires Adobe Acrobat Reader.
This is a temporary fix and officers will still arrive if people are in need.

If the picture in this article is supposed to represent a minor crash, I have to strongly disagree. First, based on personal experience with a vehicle hit by a deer, the visible damage to the SUV is probably in excess of $4000.00, probably significantly in excess of $4000. The deer strike on my car resulted in much less visible damage and ran over $3000. That much damage usually requires a report by law enforcement if the accident is multi-vehicle with the report assigning blame for the accident. Additionally, there appears to be quite a bit of leakage under the SUV. That leakage usually requires immediate cleanup.
