SAN ANGELO, TX — The long-awaited San Angelo LIVE! mobile smartphone application, or mobile app, is now available for iPhones on iOS operating system and for Android phones.
The app provides easy navigation to the various sections on the San Angelo LIVE! platform, including all categories of news, events, and obituaries. Also, stories are published on our app before we share them to social media. The app will be the best way for staying in the know about what is happening in San Angelo, Texas!
The iOS app was released two weeks ago and already has over 5,000 active users. We expect the Android version that is released Monday, March 30 will increase the app’s popularity even more.
As more and more app users come online, San Angelo LIVE! will reduce the amount of participation on social media, particularly Facebook.
Facebook uses our content to grow its audience and then sell advertising to our clients. We do not get paid for producing the content. We are the ones standing on the side of the road or at important breaking news events gathering the information. The way Facebook frames our website into its own app is basically stealing our content and the way they operate creates challenges for making our news platform financially sustainable.
The app and our very popular daily email, the San Angelo LIVE! email, are our primary means of distributing breaking news for San Angelo. Subscribe and download them today!

Permalink... doesn't like or doesn't work well when I use VPN for my Smartphone. So, I have several questions, is that on purpose? Do you need to know everyone's IP address? If so, to me ... that's none of your business.
I use VPN to help stop hackers from hacking my phone and getting my personal information like my Mobile banking info and so forth! Just curious if that's the case with San Angelo Live new app for android... if so ... maybe I should stop using the New app! With the technology we have in today's world I feel fairly sure that the software for the app can be updated to accept VPN protection.
