WATCH: Good Samaritan Describes Rescue and Fiery Car Blaze

SAN ANGELO, TX — Firefighters with the San Angelo Fire Department battled a car fire on College Hills Saturday morning. 

According to the SAFD, on Mar. 14, firefighters were dispatched to the Dollar General on College Hills for the report of a car fire. 

The vehicle, a 90s model Cadillac burst into flames in the Parking lot. “I just got in and turned the ignition and something popped,” said the driver. 

David Enriquez and his family who were passing witnessed the car on fire and made the decision to help. "We found the owner. She was outside panicking and went over to help her out and called 911 at the same time."

Enriquez and others were able to also rescue items from the trunk of the vehicle. Firefighters quickly put the fire out before anyone was harmed.

The scene has been cleaned and business continued at the store.
