SAN ANGELO, TX – Angelo State University has decided to extend spring break recess until March 20 to “further assess the evolving situation with the COVID-19 (Coronavirus)." At this time there are no reported cases of the virus within the ASU community.
The ASU campus will not be closed during the extended break. Students will be allowed to return to campus and residence halls and dining services will remain open.
Classes are scheduled to resume Monday, March 23.
The university has also provided information regarding the measure students returning from Spring Break can take if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms:
“Students returning to campus after spring break should be highly aware of your health. If you have flu-like symptoms during spring break or upon returning to campus, please seek medical attention as follows:
- Download and use the Shannon on Demand app.
- Create an account.
- Use payment code SHANNONCOVID19 which will completely cover your cost.
- Talk to one of the physicians available.
- Carefully follow the physician’s instructions.
A second option is to make an appointment with Shannon Clinic-Jackson by calling 325-942-2171 and following the clinic’s instructions regarding your appointment.”

And so what, they're supposed to come up with a pill that will have everybody cured of the virus during this extended time or what ? ? ? What ever genius thought up that plan is an idiot.... This only gives all these students more free time to travel around partying and mingling with ten times the amount of people as they would otherwise...... Pure genius thinking there hoss......

Do you feel my heart beating?
Do you understand?
Do you feel the same?
Am I only dreaming?
Is this burning an eternal flame?"
