SAPD: Gang Unit Officers Assaulted after Stopping Car Full of Teen Thugs High on the Reefer

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Officers with the San Angelo Police Department Gang Unit were assaulted Thursday after pulling over a group of teens. 

According to the SAPD, on February 27, officers with the SAPD's K-9 and Gang Unit conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of Rio Concho Drive. 

After pulling the car over, officers identified the occupants in the vehicle as Alexis Robles, 17, Nicholas Martinez, 19, Gregory Garza, 18, and 19-year-old Thomas Garza II. 

During the stop Robles allegedly kicked two of the officers and spit on another. She was then placed under arrest and was put in a "Rip-Hobble and Spit Prevention Hood". Robles was charged with assault to a peace officer resisting arrest, and minor in consumption. 

Officers then searched the suspects and found the driver, Martinez,  had possession of cocaine, xanax, and marijuana. He was charged with failure to signal with intent, possession of a controlled substance penalty group one, possession of a controlled substance penalty three, and possession of marijuana. 

Gregory was arrested for consuming tobacco while being under the age of 18. 

Garza II was charged with possession of marijuana.
