SAN ANGELO, TX -- A security guard at the original H-E-B was arrested last Thursday after he put a fellow employee in the hospital.
According to the affidavit signed by Justice of the Peace Eddie Howard, on October 1, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to a local hospital where a man was being treated for an assault that caused them serious injury.
When they arrived, they met with the victim who told them that he had been punched in the head by someone who was wearing brass knuckles.
Police say the assault happened at the victim's workplace, the H-E-B located at 3301 Sherwood Way. While on the clock, the victims says the security guard walked up to him and attempted to tase him the neck.
Although the taser hit him in the neck, it did not have any effect on him.
After seeing this, the victim says the security guard punched him in the head while wearing brass knuckles. This caused the victim to have a large cut on his head that required two staples.
Police identified the security guard as Rayden Wadley, 20, through security footage as well as a previous booking photo.
Wadley was arrested on October 10 and was released two days later after his bond was set at $35,000.
UPDATE Wednesday October 16, 9:00 a.m.:
According to H-E-B, the security guard did not work for the grocery store but instead was hired by a third party.
H-E-B says they will be pursuing strong actions towards the security guard and the company that hired him.
