SAN ANGELO, TX – PaulAnn Baptist Church in northeast San Angelo has outgrown its current facility and broke ground Sunday on a new sanctuary and education wing.
Hundreds of PaulAnn members gathered outside the church Sunday to attend the groundbreaking on the new 25,000 sq. ft. sanctuary and 10,000 sq. ft. education wing.
According to information from the City of San Angelo Building Permits Department, PaulAnn has a building permit for $9,790,000.
PaulAnn Leadership Development Director Quinn Banister said with the furniture and audiovisual equipment the total cost of the project is approximately $11.8 million.

PaulAnn Baptist Church began in 1986 and moved to its current location at 2531 Smith Blvd. in 1987 according to the church website.
Lee Lewis Construction, Inc. is the general contractor building the new facility. Banister says they expect construction to take about 13 months.
Texas Bank is providing financing for the project.
The new addition will include approximately 200 additional parking spaces as well.
Banister says they have received about $5.4 million in pledges for the $9.79 million project and they have collected approximately $2.8 million so far.
The website says on average 1,500 people attend three services each Sunday in the current sanctuary.
