SAN ANGELO, TX -- The pile of storm debris in the San Angelo Stadium parking lot got bigger overnight. The only problem is that the parking lot is not a designated area for dropping off storm debris.
On Wednesday, city officials said the two drop off sites, the San Angelo Coliseum parking lot and the city yard at Lake Nasworthy, will be open until June 2.
Watch video from Friday morning:
City crews already cleaned up a large pile of debris illegally dumped at San Angelo Stadium on Monday.
Public Information Officer Anthony Wilson provided an update on Storm debris Wednesday: Debris drop-off sites remain open 24/7 through June 2. Those sites are the Lake Operations facility at the corner of Fisherman's and Knickerbocker roads, and the Foster Communications Coliseum parking lot, 50 E. 43rd St.
San Angelo Stadium is NOT a designated drop-off site.
Drop-off areas are marked with orange traffic barrels. Brush and construction debris, which will be disposed of differently, must be put in separate piles at the drop-off sites.
Spoiled food should be placed in tan garbage bins rather than left on front curbs or taken to drop-off sites.
Tree limbs can be collected during trash customers' bulk pickup if they are bundled in 4-foot lengths. Construction materials are not eligible for bulk pickup.
Bulk pickup may be delayed as Republic Services deploys some of its resources to storm cleanup.
If a homeowner cannot transport limbs and damaged shrubbery, that vegetation should be left on the front curb. Please do not push or leave debris in the street.
City crews will be collecting limbs left on curbs through May 31.
Vegetation damaged by the storm will be chipped.
The resulting mulch will be available at no cost at the Lake Ops facility, 2301 Fisherman's Road, and at the landfill, 3002 Old Ballinger Highway.

City officials should quit pissing and moaning about this ridiculous crap and just designate it as a disposal sight and clean the crap up when it's done..... What, maybe it would take 30 minutes to clean it all up with a bucket loader and a couple of roll off dumpsters ? ....... Geez, find something worthwhile to get a tit in the wringer like fixing the roads or something..........
