New Early Morning Flight From San Angelo to DFW on Larger Jet Starting in June

SAN ANGELO, TX -- American Airlines is adding an early morning flight from San Angelo Regional Airport to Dallas on a newer, larger aircraft beginning June 7.

The 6:45 a.m. flight to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport will be aboard a jet with 76 seats, 12 of which will be in first class. The ERJ-175 is the newest aircraft in American’s regional fleet and is fully equipped with Wi-Fi service. Airport Director Jeremy Valgardson said he hopes the newer planes will result in fewer delays and cancellations.

“This is also a good test to determine whether San Angelo can sustain more flights,” Valgardson said. “We have been a proven market for additional flights in the past, and our current load factors are quite high.”

With the added flight, American will offer six departures to and six arrivals from DFW daily. The remaining flights will continue to be on E-140s, an aircraft that will eventually be phased out and replaced by the ERI-175.

This is actually great news. However, the issue with AA isn't really getting from SJT to DFW, it is the connecting flights from DFW that create consternation. Delays, long layovers, cancelled flights. I think the better solution is for SJT to add another regional carrier. AA is the pits.....

The airport manager “...hopes newer planes will result in fewer delays and cancellations.” WHAT? I think he’s been snorting CBD. Adding a bigger aircraft with WiFi has nothing to do with fewer cancellations or delays! If the plane doesn’t make it to good ole SJT in the morning, it doesn’t matter how nice or how big the new planes are. The other issue that’s wrong here is the connections at DFW are usually all hosed up with little consolations to the passengers. Fix the flawed AA system!

the cost alone of just flying out of SJT would make anyone drive.... You guys are def snorting something but it aint cbd
